New Sabah-China routes deliver “positive” performance for AirAsia Malaysia

AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Riat Asmat, said the LCC’s new Kota Kinabalu to China services were performing strongly. Read More » The LCC launched Kota Kinabalu-Beijing Daxing on July 2 and Kota Kinabalu-Macau last weekend. Both inaugural services recorded passenger load factors above 90%. “Currently, we operate 21 domestic and international routes to the state with 300 flights a week to and from Sabah and now there is the addition of daily return flights to Beijing and four flights to Macao,” Riat said. “With strong demand for more China flights from this hub, we look forward to increasing the frequency and adding more routes between the two countries.”

Separately, AirAsia X's Kuala Lumpur-Chengdu (Tianfu) rotation, which commenced on July 1, now operates three times a week up from twice a week.
