Orient Aviation, the Asia-Pacific's first solely commercial aviation news magazine, was launched in October, 1993, as a quarterly. Its mission is to introduce the news and the news makers of the region's commercial aviation industry to the industry's regional and global readership. Since that first issue, which featured a cover story on Singapore Airlines and its managing director, Dr.Cheong Choong Kong, Orient Aviation has grown into the region's most respected media platform for commercial aviation news, CEO profiles and analysis.

In October 2014, the Hong Kong-based Orient Aviation Media Group, which has grown into a multi media organization that also conducts industry conferences, reached a new milestone - 21 years of uninterrupted, high quality coverage of the region's commercial aviation news.

Our editorial and events team

Christine McGee, the publisher and editor-in-chief, is a journalist trained in Australia who has been with the company for more than 20 years.

Tom Ballantyne, the chief correspondent of the Orient Aviation Media Group, who has a distinguished reputation as a newspaper manager and reporter, specializes in aviation analysis and has worked for the Orient Aviation Media Group for 20 years.

Geoffrey Tudor, our North Asia correspondent, was in charge of Japan Airlines international public relations, based in Tokyo for more than 20 years. He is now a freelance commercial aviation writer and analyst for several companies in Japan as well as a contributor to Orient Aviation.

Shirley Ho, the Orient Aviation Media Group's general manager, has been with the company for 13 years, after spending several years working BAE systems, the Aerospace Forum and Rockwell Automation. She is in charge of events management and also the development of the company's e-communications and their delivery.

Chan Ping Kwan is the company's Chief Designer and production co-ordinator. He has worked in several graphic design and media companies, he has been with Orient Aviation Media Group for six years.

Ada Ho is our finance manager, who has specialized in account management at several Hong Kong companies before she joined the Orient Aviation Media Group in 2002.
