Air New Zealand (Air NZ) is to install a Sport 24 live broadcasting channel on its 777s and 787s. Read More » The Star Alliance member plans to have Sport 24 running on 11 aircraft by the start of the Rugby World Cup this month. Its remaining seven twin-aisles will offer the live channel by the time the knockout phase of the tournament commences on October 14. “We have been on a mission to give customers the best entertainment options in the skies and with Wi-Fi enabled across our wide-body fleet, adding live sport is a fantastic way to give customers access to even more content so they never have to miss a minute of a game,” Air NZ chief customer and sales officer, Leanne Geraghty, said. “Like most Kiwis, we are crazy about rugby, so launching the roll out of live sport today means our customers can enjoy live rugby on board and support their team even while in the air.” The airline has produced a cheeky video with tips for on board etiquette that advises passengers to stay “on side” while watching live sport in the air.
