AirAsia Malaysia has resumed flying between Kota Kinabalu and Hangzhou for the first time in three years. Read More » The LCC's first flight on the route took off on Saturday, when A320 registration 9M-RAC took off from Kota Kinabalu at 1630 local time as the AK1574, landing at Hangzhou about four hours later. The aircraft was on the ground for 80 minutes before departing Hangzhou as the reciprocal AK1575. "We are delighted to resume the Kota Kinabalu to Hangzhou route, connecting these two remarkable cities once again," AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Riad Asmat, said. "Both Sabah and China are two of our key markets and we’re confident that our vast connectivity will allow us to enable affordable travel for our trusted guests as we continue to grow our fleet and network to cater to growing demand." The airline said the frequency on the route was increasing to four times weekly in October, up from three times a week currently.
