Today's briefs report news from China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings, Cuberg, MTU Aero Engines and Safran Electrical & Power. Read More »

China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings said in its interim report the rapid growth of air travel amid ongoing supply chain issues, coupled with high inflation and interest rates, is forecast to continue to push up lease rates. “It is generally expected the narrow-body shortage will persist for a couple of years, contributing to high market value and lease rates,” the lessor said.

MTU Aero Engines expects the required new maintenance plan for Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines to lead to a 1 billion euro (US$1.1 billion) drop in revenue and earnings before interest and tax in 2023. “We have to expect significant burdens on our reported revenue and earnings figures for 2023,” MTU Aero Engines CEO, Lars Wagner, said.

Safran Electrical & Power and Cuberg have agreed to collaborate in developing an aviation energy storage system for future full electric and hybrid aircraft.
