Garuda Indonesia has appointed Arif Wibowo to succeed Emirsyah Satar as chief executive of the country’s flag carrier. Wibowo was head of Citilink, Garuda’s budget arm. Satar said he has resigned before his term ends in March to give the new management more time to prepare for the coming year. Read More »  


Korean Air executive resigns

Heather Cho Hyun-ah, 40, has resigned from all her positions at Korean Air, including head of in-flight service and vice president.

The resignation follows an embarrassing incident last week when Cho ordered a Seoul-bound Airbus A380 to return to the gate at New York’s JFK International  Airport because a senior crew member offered her bagged nuts instead of nuts served on a plate as laid out in the cabin service manual.


New CCO at BOC Aviation

BOC Aviation has announced the appointment of Chris Gao as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Based in Singapore, he reports to Robert Martin, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Gao will oversee all senior revenue relationships within the Asia Pacific region and the Middle East, and have primary responsibility for airline leasing and sales in these regions. He will also develop capital market products for both airline customers and third-party investors.
