All Nippon Airways unveils sustainability-themed livery on Q400 turboprop

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has painted one of its Q400 turboprops in the “ANA Future Promise” livery to highlight the airline's sustainability initiatives. Read More » Scheduled to enter service on October 29, the turboprop will carry a rib like textured plate on its fuselage intended to study the material’s impact on air resistance. The safety information cards are being produced from scallop shells and the aircraft’s head rest covers are being reupholstered in vegan leather. The ANA Future Prop joins the Star Alliance member's ANA Future Jet initiative launched in 2022. “ANA is committed to accomplishing its sustainability goals and being a leader in the aviation industry. The ANA Future Promise Jet and Prop symbolize our ongoing efforts,” ANA senior vice president for customer experience management and planning, Junko Yazawa, said. “We remain committed to our emissions reduction goals. We will continue to identify and invest in industry leading sustainability practices and innovations to advance our mission.”
