United Airlines touches down in New Zealand’s Christchurch

United Airlines (UA) has commenced nonstop three times a U.S.to Christchurch, its second destination in New Zealand. Read More » Flight UA730, operated by 787-9 registration N28987, landed in the South Island’s largest city a little before 1000 local time on December 11 at the conclusion of a 13-hour journey from San Francisco. Four hours later, the 787-9 took off as the reciprocal UA731 for northern California. The Star Alliance member said: “New Zealand will always be a bucket list destination for our U.S. travellers and this flight offers direct access to the natural wonders of the South Island and makes it easy for New Zealand’s southern population to head north to the Americas and beyond.” Said UA regional sales manager for Australia, New Zealand and Tahiti, Tim Wallis: “We are proud to be the first U.S. airline to offer this direct service for travellers into Christchurch from the U.S., and vice versa.”
