Qantas Group forecasts 8.5 million passengers in peak holiday season

Australia’s Qantas Airways and Jetstar Airways are expecting to transport 8.5 million passengers during the end-of-year December-January holiday season; a 500,000 increase over December 2022-January 2023 and the highest number of passengers forecast to be flown by the two airlines since the outbreak of the pandemic. Read More » The airline group is planning to have up to 13 jet aircraft on standby as operational spares in case of disruptions and said staff on reserve has been increased to account for unexpected sick leave. “As previously disclosed, group international capacity is predicted to return to pre-COVID levels by mid-2024 from around 90% at present,” Qantas Group said.
