Jetstar Airways expands international flight frequencies from Melbourne hub

Australia’s Jetstar Airways is increasing capacity on five international routes operated out of Melbourne Tullamarine. Read More » In April, the Qantas Group LCC will schedule up to 13 flights a week between Melbourne and Auckland, compared with eight at present, and up to five flights weekly from the Victorian city to Christchurch against three currently. In June, Jetstar will build Melbourne-Singapore to daily and Melbourne to Bangkok and Phuket to five flights a week compared with three a week at present. The LCC also will launch Melbourne-Nadi on December 16. “Melburnians love to travel and we are continuing to see strong demand,” Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully, said. “The city also is incredibly popular with international tourists as a cultural capital for sport, art, food and world-renowned coffee.”
