China Airlines to integrate former SAS A350 into fleet

Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) is scheduled to accept an A350-900 formerly flown by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Read More » The jet became available after SAS filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and cancelled several aircraft leases. According to AeroRoutes, the ex-SAS twin aisle will operate between Taipei Taoyuan and Singapore on March 2 and to Rome Fiumicino from Taipei the next day. The aircraft will retain the SAS cabin configuration of 40 business class, 32 premium economy and 228 economy seats. CAL has fitted reverse herringbone seats in its A350 business class, but SAS has staggered premium cabin seating. In premium economy, CAL A350s have a 2-3-2 configuration compared with SAS’s 2-4-2 seating pattern.
