Singapore Airlines group passengers increased 23% in January

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Scoot flew a combined 3.2 million passengers in January, up from the 2.6 million air travellers it transported in the same month in 2023. Read More » Capacity, or Available Seat Kilometres, was higher by 16.5%, the airline group said in a regulatory filing. Passenger load factor for the month was 85.3%, a dip from 86.9% a year ago. SIA partly attributed the small downward shift to Lunar New Year falling in February this year compared with January in 2023. SIA said cargo loads, were higher by 19.7% year-on-year “due to stronger e-commerce demand and growth in shipments ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday”.
