Routes

From February 27, Air Niugini will cancel its weekly Port Moresby – Cebu B737-700 service. On May 1, Alitalia will launch a thrice-weekly Milan – Shanghai A330-200 service as well as a three times a week  Rome – Seoul A330-200 service from June 1. Egyptair has launched a twice-weekly Cairo – Bangkok – Jakarta B777-300ER route. HK Express will fly a four times a week Hong Kong – Wuxi A320 service starting April 10. Jeju Air will add a daily Busan – Taipei (TPE) B737-800 route commencing April 8. Korean Air from March 29 will increase frequency on the Incheon – Istanbul B777-200ER route from five- to six-weekly, and from three to four-weekly on the Incheon – Vienna B777-200ER route from July 6. Nepal Airlines will replace the B757-200 with the A320 on the Kathmandu – Hong Kong and – Bangkok routes from February 27. China’s Okay Airways has launched four-weekly B737-900ER on each of the following routes: Tianjin – Guangzhou, Tianjin – Ningbo – Sanya and Tianjin – Sanya. Peach Aviation will launch a twice-daily Tokyo (NRT) – Fukuoka A320 service, and a daily Tokyo (NRT) – Sapporo A320 service, from March 29. Qantas has adjusted frequency on the Brisbane – Tokyo (NRT) A330-300 route, planned to launch August 1, from four-weekly to daily. Effective December 17, Qatar Airways plans to launch a four-weekly Doha – Johannesburg – Durban B787-8 service, subject to regulatory approvals. Sichuan Airlines will commence a thrice-weekly Chengdu – Moscow (SVO) A330 service from May 2. Spring Airlines Japan will reduce frequency on the Tokyo (NRT) – Takamatsu B737-800 route from daily to four-weekly starting March 29. Transaero will launch a weekly St. Petersburg – Beijing B767-300 service on June 6. Vietnam Airlines will replace the A321 with the A330-200 on the Hanoi – Busan route from July 1, while reducing frequency from 10-weekly to daily. Xiamen Airlines will add a thrice-weekly Quanzhou – Manila, and a thrice-weekly Xiamen – Osaka, B737-800 service effective March 30.

Technology

Singapore Airlines has launched the TCS CrewCollab app, jointly developed by Tata Consulting Services and the airline, which allows crew to view information previously available in paper format only such as, crew and in-flight services lists. The app will give crew more information about passengers’ profiles with the airline.
