Korean Air CEO pays tribute to staff as airline celebrates 55 years of flying

Korean Air (KAL) CEO, Walter Cho, spoke of the airline's remarkable journey from “humble beginnings” to a “beacon of excellence in the global aviation industry” at a March 4 celebration that marked the group’s 55th anniversary. Read More » Speaking in Seoul, Cho said he is optimistic about the future despite the industry’s challenges and uncertainties and praised the “unmatched expertise and skills” of KAL employees. “It is with this strength that the future of Korean Air is set to outshine our past achievements,” he said. Cho also addressed KAL’s proposed merger with Asiana Airlines. “The long and deliberative journey” is drawing to a close. “We find ourselves at the cusp of a new chapter in our history,” he said.
