Singapore regulator clears Air India-Vistara merger; addresses competition concerns

The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has conditionally approved the merger of Tata Group’s Air India and Vistara, a joint Tata’s-SIA venture. Read More » SIA announced the merger plan in November 2022 and India’s regulator approved it last September. The CCCS said the airlines dominate the market on routes from Singapore to New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Tiruchirapalli. It directed the merged airline to maintain this capacity at pre-COVID numbers, appoint independent auditors to monitor compliance with capacity commitments and submit annual and interim reports.
