The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India announced that the local carriers will operate 24,275 weekly domestic during the summer season starting from March 31. The figure is 6% higher than during last year's summer season, and 2.3% higher than during the ongoing winter season with 23,732 weekly domestic flights. In total, the airlines will use 125 airports across the country, including several new ones such as Azamgarh, Aligarh, Chitrakoot, Gondia, Jalgaon, Moradabad, and Pithoragarh, Financial Express reports.
FedEx Express announced the company upgraded its facility at Shenzhen Airport. The import warehouse has expanded its footprint by 48% to over 4,500 square meters, doubling the sorting capacity of packages and documents, while increasing freight handling capacity by 50%.
Dubai-headquartered aviation services firm Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd announced on March 19 it has signed a $420 million 5-year unsecured term loan with China Construction Bank (DIFC Branch) and China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation Limited (CCB).
