Air New Zealand recorded 8.7% increase in passengers in February against a year ago

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has reported its air travellers transported in February increased to 1.3 million passengers from the 1.2 million customers it carried in the same month in 2023. Read More » Capacity was higher by 21.2%, largely driven by resumption of its international network post-pandemic, the airline said. “Long-haul international available seat kilometres (ASKs) increased 26.0%, short-haul international ASKs improved by 15.5% and domestic ASKs were up slightly at 1.4% compared with 12 months earlier,” Air NZ said in a regulatory filing. Passenger load factor dipped 6.8 percentage points, to 79.3%, it added. The Star Alliance member's domestic network flew 868,000 passengers in the month, better by 5.6%, or 823,000 air travellers, over a year ago.
