Airlines avoid Iran’s air space after missile attack on Israel

Several airlines are redirecting routes that usually operate through Iranian air space amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. They include Air India, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and its LCC Scoot, local media reports. Iran had vowed retaliation for an attack on its diplomatic compound in Syria which it alleged Israel instigated. The attack killed a senior member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard. Tehran fired more than 300 armed drones towards Israel on April 13 and April 14.
