Hart, NTSB’s vice chairman, has served as acting chairman since former chairwoman, Deborah Hersman, resigned from the board last April. Hart last oversaw the NTSB’s investigation on the Asiana Airlines crash at San Francisco International Airport on July 6, 2013. He has been a member of the board since August 2009 and was also a member from 1990-1993.
