Capital A CEO confirms retirement schedule

Read More » “We are into my 23rd year as CEO,” the co-founder of AirAsia and AirAsia X, said in a letter to Capital A shareholders. “This is my final chapter. This five-year chapter began last year with our robust succession plan. We have elevated leaders to key positions, supported by a robust second line behind them.” Fernandes is optimistic the recently announced transaction outlining Capital A’s divestment of its AirAsia airline businesses to AirAsia X was a significant win for shareholders. “Delivering this value to you will be a fitting swan song for my own journey since we began this airline 23 years ago,” he said.
