Korean Air closing in on twin aisle jet order

Read More » Cho said the flag carrier is deciding between the 787 and additional A350s and the decision is “more likely” to be the 787. KAL ordered 33 A350s in March. KAL also is planning to order new freighters, particularly the 777X freighter version of the type. Korean Air also revealed it is examining the option of merging three LCCs, including its Jin Air subsidiary, with the aim of integrating Jin Air with Air Busan and Air Seoul, owned by Asiana Airlines. Cho told Bloomberg he is planning “pretty significant growth” of increasing KAL’s LCC fleet to up to 100 planes in five years.
