The European Commission (EC) has drafted plans to initially exempt long-haul flights from rules on monitoring their non-CO₂ emissions after international carriers lobbied for an opt-out, Reuters reports.

CDB Aviation, a wholly-owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co. Ltd, has executed lease agreements for two A320neo with a new customer, Azerbaijan Airlines, one of the largest carriers in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Vietnam Airlines has integrated the Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS) into its operations.

GE Aerospace is developing a hybrid electric demonstrator engine with NASA that will embed electric motor generators in a high-bypass commercial turbofan to supplement power during different phases of operation. The project involves modifying a Passport engine with hybrid electric components for testing with NASA’s Hybrid Thermally Efficient Core (HyTEC) project.
