Air India establishes its first India pilot training academy

Air India (AI) is starting a flying school in Amravati in Maharashtra. Read More » It will be the airline’s first dedicated crew training facility in India and will have the capacity to train 180 cadets a year. The academy will be equipped with 30 single-engine Piper aircraft and four multi-engine Diamond aircraft. Sunil Bhaskaran, a Tata Group veteran and former CEO of AirAsia India, is managing director of the Air India Aviation Academy and is overseeing the development of the airline's training infrastructure.
