Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has added 30,000 seats to its domestic network to cater for this month's busy school break. Read More » The Star Alliance member forecasts it will carry an estimated 500,000 passengers across New Zealand from July 5 to July 21. “We have seen impressive demand for travel across Aotearoa over the school holiday period,” Air NZ chief operating officer, Alex Marren, said, using the Maori-language name for New Zealand. “The next two weeks are not just going to be a busy time in the air, but in our airports, and our teams are gearing up to ensure the journeys of our customers are as smooth as possible.” Queenstown was the most popular destination for Kiwis looking for a mid-winter getaway in their own backyard, the airline said.
