Maharashtra Airport Development Company has been awarded a tender to establish a flight training organisation (FTO) at Amravati’s Belora airport. The FTO is planned to open in 2026 and will be equipped with 31 single-engine aircraft and three twin-engine aircraft. “The FTO at Amravati will be a significant step towards making India aviation more self-reliant and also offering more opportunities to the youth of country to fulfil their ambitions to be pilots,” Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said. “The young pilots coming out of this FTO will fuel Air India’s ambition of becoming a world-class airline, as it moves ahead in its transformation journey.”
AirAsia and the Sabah Tourism Board have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to increase tourism to Malaysia’s island state of Borneo.
Airport services provider, SATS Ltd, has opened the doors of an upgraded Premier Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 3 and will refurbish its Premier Lounges at Terminals 1 and 2.
From July 1, Malaysia-listed MMAG Holdings has been operating a cargo interline agreement with Capital A logistics business, Teleport. The commitment is to July 31 next year. “The parties have agreed to transport each other’s shipments on specific routes in accordance with the charges and other terms and conditions as stated in the agreement,” MMAG said in a regulatory filing.
