COMAC’s C919s surpass half a million mark in commercial passengers flown

On September 1, China’s domestically developed passenger aircraft, the C919, passed the 500,000 mark in passengers carried, China’s Xinhua News Agency reports. Read More » Since beginning commercial operations on May 28 last year, the type has logged more than 10,000 flight hours, completed 3,700 plus commercial flights and carried 500,000 passengers. To date, the C919’s only commercial airline operator is China Eastern Airlines (CEA). It has seven C919s flying five routes that connect Shanghai with Chengdu, Beijing, Xi'an and Guangzhou as well as Beijing-Xi’an. Aeroroutes service has reported China Southern Airlines (CSA), which received its first C919 on August 28, has opened bookings for its first C919 route, daily Guangzhou-Shanghai Hongqiao from September 19.
