China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has sold 17 lease-attached aircraft to a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE). Fifteen are A320 family aircraft owned by CALC and two held by an independent third party managed by the lessor.

In an Australian first, Sydney Airport has installed a Light Detection and Ranging System (LIDAR) to mitigate risks associated with wind shear during aircraft operations. The new technology, part of the Low-Level Wind shear Alert System (LLWAS), informs pilots and airport personnel of hazardous low-level wind conditions that could affect aircraft during take-off and landing.

Kansai International Airport, in Japan's western prefecture of Osaka, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The airport was built on reclaimed land five kilometers off the coast in Osaka Bay and opened on September 4, 1994.
