EVA Airways shortlists Boston, Washington and Dallas for U.S. expansion

Regionally, EVA is considering a larger network to Japan, dependent on manpower availability. The Taiwanese carrier has identified the southward shift of supply chains and increased transit demand, it said. Routes between Southeast Asia and North America are playing the major role in developing air traffic growth, the airline said. Transfer traffic carried by EVA has increased 60% compared with pre-COVID 2019. Despite rivals China Airlines and STARLUX Airlines flying Taipei-Seattle since the northern hemisphere summer, EVA is recording a 90% load factor on the route, which is a 60% to 70% ratio of transfer passengers on Seattle flights and a significant increase over the 30% ratio of the entire North American market.
