Cebu Pacific confirms commitment for 70 321neo

Cebu Pacific, the largest airline in the Philippines, has firmed up its order with Airbus for 70 A321neo. Read More » In July, the LCC and the OEM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purchase of up to 102 neo family aircraft and agreed acquisition rights for 50 A320neo. Aviation Updates Philippines said the October 2 Manila signing included options for 82 more A320neo family aircraft, making it the biggest deal in Philippines aviation. Valued at approximately US$24 billion, based on list prices, the order includes an engine contract with RTX’s Pratt & Whitney to equip the new aircraft with GTF engines. Cebu Pacific CEO, Michael Szucs, said deliveries will commence in early 2029 at the latest, but could begin arriving at the carrier earlier depending Airbus’s backlog and delivery slots. At September 30, Cebu Pacific had an operating Airbus fleet of 61 A320 family aircraft and nine A330s. Following the latest order, its backlog with Airbus is 94 A320neo family aircraft and seven A330neo.
