Poland’s LOT Polish Airlines (LOT) will not be flying Warsaw-Beijing Capital Airport in the northern hemisphere winter season. Read More » “We have decided to cancel flights to Beijing in the winter season due to unsatisfactory sales results and the significant deterioration of our competitive position against carriers using shorter and more direct flight paths,” LOT spokesman, Krzysztof Moczulski, told media outlet Rynek Lotniczy. Last June, the flag carrier decided Warsaw-Beijing Daxing, which operated briefly pre-pandemic, will not be restored. The Star Alliance airline is joining a growing number of airlines from Europe, including British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways, which have removed Beijing from their networks. LOT’s last flight to Beijing will be on October 24.
