Delta Air Lines will re-start nonstop Los Angeles-Shanghai Pudong next June with a specific launch date to be decided. Read More » Delta plans to fly the route three times a week with A350-900s fitted with business, premium economy and economy cabins. Los Angeles will be the SkyTeam alliance member's third nonstop route to Pudong alongside existing Detroit and Seattle. “As the leading global airline at LAX, Delta remains committed to providing our Los Angeles customers with seamless access to destinations worldwide,” Delta senior vice president of network planning, Joe Esposito, said. China Eastern Airlines and United Airlines also serve Los Angeles-Pudong nonstop. Delta president, Glen Hauenstein, speaking at the airline’s financial results presentation, said Japan and the South Pacific looked strong based on indicators and China was “looking stronger” as the market absorbed the big capacity increases of the last year. “We are seeing a little weakness in South Korea, but nothing major. We will keep an eye on that,” Hauenstein said.
