Etihad reports 52% profit hike

UAE national carrier, Etihad Airways, has reported a $73 million net profit for 2014, up 52% year-on-year. Etihad recorded a 22% year-on-year passenger surge to 14.8 million, with RPKs up 24%, to 68.6 billion. ASKs were up 21.8% to 86.6 billion, and load factor rose 1.2%, to 79.2%. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier’s cargo revenue increased 19.2% in 2014 to $1.1 billion.
