China Southern Airlines books US$447 million net profit in latest quarter

China Southern Airlines (CSA) has reported net profit of 3.2 billion yuan (US$447 million) for the three months to September 30, down 23.9% from a 4.2 billion yuan net profit in the matching month in 2023. Read More » Revenue rose 4.6%, to 49.9 billion yuan, CSA said in a regulatory filing. Encouragingly, CSA's net profit for year to date to September 30 was substantial, at two billion yuan, and revenue was 12.7% higher at 134.7 billion yuan for the nine months. “Net profit attributable to shareholders has increased mainly from strong demand in the aviation market and an increase in operating income," CSA said.
