Bangkok Airways traffic update reports revenue decline

Bangkok Airways has announced net profit for the three months to September 30 dropped sharply, by 671 million baht (US$20 million), from 9 billion baht in the same quarter in 2023. Read More » Revenue increased 15.3%, to 6.5 billion baht, but costs rose by 20.2% (5.4 billion baht), Bangkok Airways said in a regulatory filing. The regional carrier said higher average fares and expanding passenger demand had supported the revenue improvement. Its average passenger air fare for the quarter moved higher by 10.7%, to 4,209.5 baht, and passenger numbers were up 8.2% to 1.1 million, compared with the same months last year, the carrier noted. “Tourism in Thailand in the third quarter of 2024 recorded significant growth compared with 2023,” Bangkok Airways said.
