Air China to be C929 launch customer

Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has announced Air China is the first customer for its C929 wide-body aircraft. Read More » COMAC’s deputy director of marketing, Liu Yan, confirmed the news at the Zhuhai Air Show on November 12. Details of the order were not disclosed. The C929 is designed to seat 258 passengers in a three-class configuration and 440 passengers in a single-class layout. It has a range of 6,480 nm. It was known as the CR929 when the program was jointly owned by COMAC and the Russian Federation's state-owned United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). That partnership was dissolved after Russia invaded Ukraine. In other COMAC news, the company has rebranded its ARJ21 regional jet as the C909.
