Malaysia on track to exceed 95 million airline passengers in full-year 2024

As a result of Malaysia's sustained post-COVID aviation recovery, it is forecast the number of air passengers flown in the country in 2024 will exceed 95 million by December 31. Read More » The Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) has announced passengers recorded reached 80.3 million air travellers in the first 10 months of the year, positioning Malaysia to achieve its forecast of 95.4 million-97.6 million passengers for the full year. “The increasing confidence in Malaysia as a global travel destination coupled with government initiatives such as visa exemptions for tourists from China (in effect until 2025) and India and the introduction of new international routes have been instrumental in driving growth, particularly in the non-ASEAN market,” MAVCOM executive chair, Datuk Seri Hj. Saripuddin Hj. Kasim, said. “MAVCOM will continue to support this growth trajectory with strategic regulatory and policy initiatives ensuring sustainable and long-term development of the aviation industry.”
