China Airlines to add capacity to Prague and Vienna as a “top priority”

Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) will prioritize direct flights from Taipei to Prague and Vienna in the second half of next year in response to increasing demand, CAL’s president, Kao Shing-hwang, told Taiwan’s Central News Agency (CNA) during his visit to Hamburg. Read More » CAL’s Europe network is averaging a passenger load factor of 85% and already has sold 80% of seats available in the peak Christmas season. CAL is the only airline to fly Taipei-Prague. Since the route’s launch in 2023, it has delivered a load factor of up to 90%. Kao said the flights not only are attracting tourists but business travelers from Germany’s Nuremberg and also Dresden where Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. recently opened a factory. CAL will increase Taipei-Prague to five flights a week from mid next year and operate from Taiwan’s capital to Vienna six times a week also from next year, building the airline’s European network to 30 flights weekly.
