COMAC celebrates one million passengers flown by C919

Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) said a China Eastern Airlines (CEA) C919, flight MU2158 from Shanghai Hongqiao to Xi'an Xianyang, carried its millionth C919 commercial airline passenger earlier this week. Read More » CEA crew presented passenger one million, Ms Lin, with a model of the type to mark the milestone. COMAC has delivered 14 C919s to China's three major airlines. CEA is the world's first C919 operator and flies nine of the type on eight routes. Its C919s have conducted 6,240 commercial flights and transported 850,000 domestic passengers. Air China's C919 aircraft operate four routes from Beijing to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Wuhan. China Southern Airlines (CSA) flies the C919 from Guangzhou to Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Haikou. The narrow-body has opened 15 domestic routes connecting 10 cities in China, COMAC said.
