Solomon Airlines joins busy Auckland-Brisbane route

Solomon Airlines has become the fifth airline offering nonstop flights between Auckland and Brisbane. Read More » The inaugural flight IE725, operated by A320 registration H4-SIB, took off from Auckland to Brisbane on Friday. After completing three more sectors - Brisbane-Munda-Honiara-Brisbane - the A320 then flew back to Auckland as IE724. Solomon Airlines is flying once a week on the route alongside current operators Air New Zealand, China Airlines, Jetstar and Qantas.“While markets such as the USA and China are now tracking above pre-COVID levels, trans-Tasman travel is still not fully recovered,” Auckland Airport chief customer officer, Scott Tasker, said. “At times the relatively tight trans-Tasman capacity has meant travellers have faced higher fares at key times in the year, so an increase in capacity and options for travellers is always welcome.”
