IndiGo to lease three more 787-9s for long-haul expansion

Read More » Earlier this month, IndiGo damp leased a 787-9 from Norse Atlantic as it gears up for long-haul expansion. Indigo CEO, Pieter Elbers said at the time the leased wide-body will be flying Delhi-Bangkok from March 1. “This will help us make strategic inroads and establish the brand in the European market. As we execute our broader strategy to strengthen and extend our international network, we are steadily advancing towards our vision of becoming a global player by 2030, firmly rooted in India and driven by continuous expansion,” Elbers said. The initial leases are for six months, extendable to 18 months, subject to regulatory approvals. IndiGo and Norse will explore opportunities to contract additional aircraft and increase their collaboration, the airlines said.
