Global airports association forecasts 22.3 billion air travellers by 2053

Read More » The 22.3 billion forecast is 2.4 times the 9.5 billion travellers flown in 2024. “Despite the near-term challenges global air travel is poised for steady, sustained growth,” ACI World director-general, Justin Erbacci, said. “It is crucial for airports, airlines and policymakers to take bold, forward-thinking actions to anticipate and meet the demands of the future.” The airport lobby group said international passenger traffic will outpace domestic passenger growth in the next three decades with compound annual growth rate predicted to be 3.3% from 2024 to 2053 compared with 2.8% growth in domestic passenger volumes.
