Hawaiian Airlines and Virgin Australia to end partnership in July

Hawaiian Airlines and Virgin Australia (VA) will terminate their relationship on July 1 shutting down their reciprocal frequent flyer cooperation. Read More » From that date, VA’s Velocity frequent flyer members will not earn points or status credits on Hawaiian-operated flights and will not be able to redeem flights on the U.S. carrier, VA said in a website update. Confirmation that VA will end its partnership with Hawaiian follows a January announcement that oneworld alliance member Qantas Airways will add Hawaiian Airlines as a partner of its frequent flyer program. Hawaiian Airlines is on track to join oneworld next year as part of its merger with oneworld member Alaska Airlines.
