Bain Capital, owners of Virgin Australia (VA), have appointed more directors to the airline’s board ahead of an expected re-listing on the Australian stock exchange. Read More » They are Macquarie Bank chair Peter Warnes, former Goldman Sachs banker Pippa Downes, Bain Capital partner Charles Lawson and Qatar Airways chief cargo officer Mark Drusch. Warnes and Downes were named as VA directors more than two years ago, but they were not formally appointed to the VA board until this week Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) filings record. The inclusion of Drusch as a board director reflects the recent Qatar Airways purchase of 25% in the Australian carrier. Bain has four other representatives on the airline’s board.
