China Airlines appoints new president
Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) has appointed Dr. Chang Yu Hern, 61, as its new president. Chang is a transportation industry veteran and previously served as chairman of Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration, the Taiwan High Speed Rail Co, the Aviation Safety Council and the China Aviation Development Foundation. “With his extensive professional background in civil aviation, transportation and aviation safety, as well as expertise in aviation policy and management, Dr. Chang is well qualified to lead China Airlines in its pursuit of further operational and flight safety improvements,” the SkyTeam carrier said.
Cathay appoints new Mainland GM
The Cathay Pacific Group has announced the appointment of Titus Diu as general manager China, effective immediately. Diu joined Cathay’s regional subsidiary, Dragonair, in 1991 and has held numerous senior management positions within the airline. His most recent appointment was chief operating officer at Air China Cargo in Beijing.
