Ashwani Lohani, an engineer-turned-bureaucrat, has been appointed chairman and managing director of chronically unprofitable Air India. Lohani holds four engineering degrees, has written two books and is credited with the turnaround of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and the India Tourism Development Corporation. Sabre Corporation has appointed Fanny Yeung as general manager of its Hong Kong operations for Sabre Travel Network. In her new role, Yeung will be mainly responsible for the growth of the market and strengthening the company’s strategic partnerships.

Yeung replaces Agatha Lee, who has been heading Sabre’s Hong Kong business for the past year, on placement from Cathay Pacific Airways. Lee will return to Cathay.


Hawaiian appoints VP controlling

Hawaiian Airlines has appointed Sayle Hirashima as vice-president of its controlling unit. Hirashima is the former chief financial officer and vice-president of Koko‘oha Investments, where he was in charge of all accounting, financial and administrative matters.


Boeing selects board member

Boeing has elected Lynn Good to its board of directors. Good is president and chief executive of Duke Energy.
