Read More » The Star Alliance member stopped flying Singapore-Dubai on June 22 and announced it had suspended the route to June 25. The decision to ground its service to Dubai followed a “security assessment” of the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, SIA said. Impacted customers can be re-accommodated on alternative flights or receive a full refund on the unused portion of their tickets. “As the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights between Singapore and Dubai may be affected,” SIA said. “SIA apologizes to all affected customers for the inconvenience caused.” The U.S. strike on Iran's nuclear facilities followed by Iran’s attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar, have caused widespread flight disruption in the region. Philippine Airlines cancelled its services to Doha, Dubai and Riyadh to assess the situation and Batik Air Malaysia and Qantas Airways have turned around or diverted flights bound for the Middle East or Europe in response to the air strikes.
