IndiGo to code-share on Jetstar Airways flights

IndiGo has signed an agreement to place its 6E airline code on Jetstar Airways-operated services from Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore to Australia. Read More » The tie-up includes code-share access to 14 destinations across Australia and New Zealand served by the Qantas Group LCC. "This expansion is part of IndiGo’s Internationalization strategy and commitment to delivering affordable, on-time, courteous and hassle-free travel experience across our unparalleled network," IndiGo senior vice president of network planning and revenue management, Abhijit Dasgupta, said. "This agreement will provide IndiGo customers with convenient access to our extensive network," Jetstar CEO, Stephanie Tully, said. In other Jetstar news, the airline has confirmed dates for new routes linking Australia and the Philippines. The LCC will start three times weekly Perth-Manila on November 27 and operate nonstop Brisbane-Cebu, also three times a week, from December 3. Both routes will be flown with A321LRs. "As demand for low-cost international travel continues to grow, our pipeline of new aircraft is helping deliver even more low fares to new destinations," Tully said. Perth-Manila is flown by Philippine Airlines. To date, there are no direct Brisbane- Cebu flights.
