China Eastern Airlines lifts total passengers carried by 6%

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) flew 13.7 million passengers in July compared with 12.9 million air travellers a year ago. Read More » The SkyTeam alliance member’s international passenger numbers in the 31 days increased 6.2%, to 1.8 million, but domestic air travellers flown improved at a more modest pace of 4.7%, to 11.6 million, in the month. On a less positive note, CEA’s regional passengers dipped 1.1%, to 318,540 in the 31 days. Passenger capacity was 7.4% higher and passenger load factor increased 1.6 percentage points to 84.8% in the month. At July 31, the Shanghai-headquartered airline had a fleet of 814 aircraft against 816 at the end of June.
