HAECO reshuffles senior management

Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company (HAECO) has announced a series of new appointments to its management teams.

In August, James Barrington took over as the group’s director for airframe services, arriving from Cathay Pacific Airways where he was the director of corporate development. Read More »

Greg Hughes also has joined the MRO provider as group director for components and engine services and Kevin Carter is group director of cabin solutions, in addition to his role as chief executive of HAECO in the Americas.

Richard Kendall is the new deputy chief executive of HAECO in the Americas, supporting Carter. Kendall is moving across from his role as director and general manager of Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL), where he was succeeded by Angus Barclay.

In China, Summit Chan has been appointed chief executive of HAECO Xiamen and Lutz Wierschin becomes general manager of HAECO Landing Gear Services.

Hawaiian COO resigns

Hawaiian Airlines has announced that Sean Menke, 46, resigned as executive vice-president and chief operating officer, effective this Friday, September 18, to pursue another opportunity. Menke, the former Frontier Airlines chief, joined Hawaiian less than a year ago and will be  executive vice-president of Texas-based Sabre Corp. and president of Sabre Travel Network from October 5.

EASA names new oversight director

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has appointed Ricardo Génova as its new flight standards director, responsible of the oversight of EU member states and the approval of overseas aviation organisations. Génova will also be in charge of the development and update of regulatory materials.

VAS appoints new CEO

Florida-based aftermarket component firm VAS Aero Services has promoted Tommy Hughes from chief commercial officer to chief executive.
