AirAsia plans to land in Vietnam; also considering touch downs in Laos and Brunei

Fernandes told Malaysian National News Agency BERNAMA on the sidelines of the ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting 2025 that the results are not confirmed, but "still, I am more optimistic than I have ever been about AirAsia entering Vietnam". The LCC also is holding preliminary discussions in Laos and Brunei, he added. Fernandes admitted there was no progress in entering the Singapore market. "I have always fought for operations in Singapore. However, I think we have given up on the plan," he said. "My dream before I leave this job is to be in as many ASEAN countries as possible. I am very keen on Vietnam."
